The Cincinnati Bengals concluded their sixth practice of training camp, the first inside Paul Brown Stadium. Reports surfaced that wide receiver Brandon Tate, running back Bernard Scott and tight end Donald Lee went to the lockerroom for one reason or another (updates will be forth coming eventually). And there was a fight.
Our own Brennen Warner attended camp on Thursday and tweeted his observations (which we embedded here). Make sure to follow him at @JustBeWarned.
George Iloka getting work at cornerback again. that versatility definitely a leg up over the other safeties battling
Linebacker Dontay Moch getting snaps at defensive end in nickel defense walkthroughs.
First team wide receivers AJ Green, Armon Binns again. Brandon Tate fully dressed but did not participate in 11-on-11 today.
Second team wide receivers Mohamed Sanu and Ryan Whalen again. Third team Marvin Jones and Vidal Hazelton again
DE Robert Geathers (knee), CB Shaun Prater (knee), CB Dre Kirkpatrick (knee), DT Vaughn Meatoga (unknown), DT Pat Sims (i forget) out today
Andrew Hawkins blows by Reggie Nelson in designed WR run and catch one on ones. first cheers of the day
Armom Binns already has two drops today in drills. Can't let that become a recurring problem
LB Roddrick Muckelroy just bowled over RB Cedric Peerman for a sack in pass protection drills. peerman won the immediate rematch though.
One on one WR v DB red zone drills. Ryan Whalen burned Jason Allen. Taylor Mays good coverage on Jordan Shipley but Ship catches anyway
WRs making great plays on end zone fades. Marvin jones with nice jump ball TD, then Vidal Hazelton with one handed snag for loudest cheers
Taylor Mays with great coverage on Kashif Moore. Moore dance in place too much and Mays got the pass breakup
Leon Hall and Nate Clements first team corners now that both are healthy. Taylor Mays and Reggie Nelson safeties again.
second team safeties Jeromy miles and Robert Sands. same as whole camp
CB Nate Clements goes inside to cover slot WR in nickel defense, as he did last year.
First team defensive ends Michael Johnson at right and Jamaal Anderson at left surpisingly. Geathers is out but Dunlap should be there
second team defensive line Derrick Harvey, nick Hayden, Devon Still, Carlos Dunlap. not sure why Dunlap and Anderson switched
Jermaine Gresham with highlight catch on end zone fade. Brandon Ghee (nor could any corner) can't match his height
Mohamed Sanu catches short touchdown across the middle then dunks it over the field goal crossbar to the delight of fans
This happened earlier, but of course Vontaze Burfict hit the running back too hard, knocked him over when no one was supposed to be tackling
Dalton throws it 60 yds down the field for an over the shoulder touchdown catch to AJ green. Robert Sands tight coverage, didnt watch ball
LB Emmanuel Lamur pressed and shadowed Andrew Hawkins very well just now. impressed with Lamur's coverage abilities all camp
Jeromy Miles getting first team reps at strong safety in place of Taylor Mays. First guy to take Mays spot so far
Mohamed Sanu makes nice sideline over the shoulder grab from Gradkowski. 40 yards down the field. Sanu's ability to go deep has surprised me
Marvin Jones makes another highlight catch. running deep but was covered well. QB threw bullet to sideline, jones spins quick, diving catch
This defensive front is very hard to run on. Too many big bodies to move
