+ The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were awarded former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jordan Shipley, who the team released over the weekend, the NFL announced on Monday. We're somewhat sad that Shipley has left the team after putting together an impressive rookie season in 2010. Yet it's bittersweet with the amount of talent this team has capable of replacing him.
Buccaneers fans weren't entirely enthusiastic about the Shipley claim, most of whom didn't see a spot for Shipley to make the roster. We suspect there's a matter of the knee which may need more rehabilitation. That's not a fact, just speculation on our part. But he's still less than a year from tearing his ACL.
+ Andrew Fox Miller offers up a list of five players who stock rose following Cincinnati's 24-19 win over the Atlanta Falcons.
+ Anthony offers up his preseason week two MVP, giving it to quarterback Andy Dalton who completed eight of 14 passes for 125 yards passing and a 50-yard touchdown to A.J. Green.
+ And the unsung hero of the week? Donald Lee. However we would be remise if we didn't offer the Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackles Domata Peko and Geno Atkins, a huge reason for Atlanta's mediocre rushing offense in the first quarter. Michael Turner lost three yards on three carries and the Falcons leading rusher was Matt Ryan, following a five-yard scramble.
