Bengals On The Board Following Mike Nugent 42-Yard Field Goal

Stay connected for news and updates

Finally.

Cincinnati's offense spent the first two possessions failing to move the football. Cincinnati's defense spent the first three possessions struggling to contain Aaron Rodgers' natural ability as a runner (he's actually a good scrambler). Following a Clay Mathews deflection at the line of scrimmage, Andy Dalton scrambles up the middle, avoiding tackles, juking players before shifting towards the left sidelines completing the 28-yard run out of bounds. Brian Leonard picked up another seven yards, setting up a second-and-nine from Green Bay's seven-yard line.

A quick drop and Dalton flings the pass to Brandon Tate on a hitch, hauling in the nine-yard reception to Green Bay's 24-yard line.

Eventually Cincinnati's offense stalled.

Following a one-yard loss by Brian Leonard, Dalton tried easing the football to Armon Binns down the right sidelines, overthrowing his receiving into the endzone setting up third-and-11 from the 25-yard line. Dalton pump faked the football with :28 seconds remaining in the first quarter, scanning the field and then throwing an incomplete to Brian Leonard.

MIke Nugent converts the 42-yard field goal putting Cincinnati on the board.
