The Green Bay Packers were moving the football (again) after Mike Nugent converted a 42-yard field goal late in the first quarter, putting Cincinnati on the board. On third-and-seven from Green Bay's 23-yard line, Rodgers completes a 13-yard pass to Diondre Borel to the 23-yard line, picking up the first down. Following a three-yard run by Cedric Benson, the Packers lineup from their own 39-yard line. Rodgers takes the snap from center and fires a deep pass down the right sidelines to James Jones. Terence Newman covered Jones' hip pocket playing man coverage, suddenly flipping around and picking off Aaron Rodgers underthrown pass. Newman returned the interception 30 yards to Green Bay's 25-yard line.
After underthrowing A.J. Green down the left sidelines and a minimal three-yard gain by Cedric Peerman setting up a third down from the 22-yard line, Dalton takes the shotgun snap with an empty backfield. He hits Brandon Tate, sitting alone on a five-yard hitch over the middle, picking up 10 yards to Green Bay's 12-yard line and the first down. Andy Dalton unwisely forced a rainbow pass to Green, nearly having the football intercepted by Williams, who clearly had superior position on Green. On second down Dalton completes a nice pass to Armon Binns, faking out and then cutting inside on a slant, on stride for an 11-yard gain to the two-yard line and the first down.
Then Cincinnati started going backwards from the Packers one-yard line.
Anonther incomplete, followed by a two-yard loss from Cedric Peerman and a quarterback sack. Mike Nugent converts the 30-yard field goal to reduce Green Bay's lead to eight.
