The Cincinnati Bengals waived rookie wide receiver Kashif Moore on Monday to squeeze within the 75-man roster limit mandated by the NFL. Now the Cincinnati Bengals have to dump 22 players by 9 PM (New York Time) on August 31. From that point until noon on September 1, NFL teams can claim players placed on waivers and right after that, it's practice squad time. [See Updated Important NFL Dates]
While we're at it, let's take a very raw guess at the team's practice squad -- days before we resolve our 53-man roster prediction. It's a rough list, subject to change on a whim. Zac Robinson, Matthew O'Donnell, DeQuin Evans, Emmanuel Lamur, Chris Lewis-Harris and Micah Johnson. That's only six, I know. There's another game to play and someone can play up to a spot. I'm not entirely convinced of selecting Whalen over Vidal Hazelton, but history suggests that the Bengals will keep a wide receiver. Tony Dye could be a consideration because the team is thin at safety, but it seems more likely that if they need someone, they'll rustle someone up in free agency.
