The first of the 2012 Cincinnati Bengals rookie class has taken a fall. Running back Dan "not-so Boom" Herron failed to make the 53-man roster, one of the 22 players being released by the Bengals on Friday. During four preseason games this year, Herron averaged 1.7 yards/rush and during most of his runs, he showed little elusiveness, often targeting his point of attack for the (not-so) boom.

Herron is a candidate for the practice squad, however we're not sure if he'll return. Herron's preseason performance against the opposing scrub defenses wasn't impressive at all. Though he had an equally problematic offensive line to play with.

In other 2012 Cincinnati Bengals rookie class news, George Iloka appears to have made the roster as the fourth safety behind Reggie Nelson, Taylor Mays and Jeromy Miles.
