And we have the first moderate surprise of the Bengals roster trimming process. With the news that undrafted rookie free agent Vontaze Burfict making the final 53-man roster, backup linebacker Roddrick Muckelroy has been waived, per Joe Reedy.
It appears that Muckelroy was a casualty of both the team keeping seven wide receivers and the impressive preseasons from Burfict and Dontay Moch. It's been a tough road for Muckelroy who has battled the numbers game and an Achilles injury. Best of luck to Roddrick in the future--it looks like it won't be in Cincinnati.
