If you missed updates about the Cincinnati Bengals over the weekend, it's possible that the shock factor waking up on Monday might be a bit much. Alright. So we're blowing it a little out of proportion.
Updates from the Mock Game | Updates from the Intrasquad scrimmage
+ Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis is unsure when Brandon Ghee will return, after suffering a wrist injury late last week.
+ Rookie cornerback Shaun Prater has a knee injury severe enough that it could land him on Injured Reserve. The injury is reportedly in the patella region and rehabilitation could last upwards to four months.
+ Cincinnati announced that defensive end Derrick Harvey, who signed a one-year deal over the offseason, was released on Sunday. As was former Bengals wide receiver Antonio Bryant from Seattle.
+ Despite the defense having a good showing during Saturday's intrasquad scrimmage, the first-team offense scored a touchdown during redzone work on second down. BenJarvus Green-Ellis, who will be the redzone back this year, said:
"Our mindset is that we want to score touchdowns and not field goals. Nothing against Mike (Nugent) or anything but our goal is when coach puts us on the field we have to get six points and not three."
+ Video of Dre Kirkpatrick working out on the sidelines during Friday's practice.
+ Wide receiver Taveon Rogers has moved to cornerback, largely because of the team's overwhelming injury issues at cornerback.
+ Undrafted free agent Emmanuel Lamur is having a good training camp thus far.
