The most important analysis we as a fan base can make right now. What is the difference between losing 44-13 vs losing 17-16?
Wait, think about it.....................
Answer: NOTHING! A loss is a loss and a win is a win, no matter how you cut it.
My point being, after week one there will be 16 teams 0-1 and 16 teams 1-0. One game will not dictate how good or bad we will be this year! I know the our players will brush this loss off, as they should and focus on bringing the "W" home next week. There is no point in reliving what happend on Monday night because we didn't execute when we needed to the most. We lost and we have plenty of time to turn things around.
Yes a win would have been great, but we cant let this loss effect us the rest of the year in a negative way. Let me remind you, the Steelers got their butts wooped in the first week against the Ravens last year too and some how managed to make the playoffs. Why cant we?
I love this site and our fan base, but there were quite a few comments in the open thread Monday night that disturbed me. Be confident in our team and show respect to the other team when they earned it. Yes we didn't play our best, but at the same time Baltimore played execellent. Our organization has a chance to make everything right again in 15 weeks! This season is far from over and our team is far from giving up.
