The Cincinnati Bengals have officially played Jamaal Anderson on Injured Reserve Tuesday afternoon, after the defensive end suffered a reported torn quad late against the Cleveland Browns. Geoff Hobson tweets that Anderson is "slated for surgery" on the torn quad tendon "later this week."
The team also announced that they signed free agent defensive end Wallace Gilberry, who spent four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs posting 14 career sacks, including a career-high seven sacks in 2010.
Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Giants in 2008, Gilberry was released during final cuts that year and signed with the Chiefs. He was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the offseason, then released and signed back on September 3, 2012. He was finally released on September 14, when Tampa Bay needed space on the 53-man roster after re-signing Derek Hardman.
