Why Jermaine Gresham holds the keys to our offense!

I really don't understand why coach Gruden does not have a series of packages strictly for getting Gresham the ball. Gruden is starting to do this for Hawkins giving him the ball on sweeps, lining him up in the slot, in the backfield. Hawkins speed is simply elite and defenses have to identify where he is whenever he enters the game.

The first two games against Baltimore and Cleveland Gresham was invisible. When he gets involved early in the game with a couple of catches it's almost like he turns into a diffrent player, he blocks better, he runs better routes, more important he plays better. Looking back at the Washington game their defense completely changed because of ONE CATCH that Gresham made and more important it changed how they defensed A.J. Green. They had to pick and choose when to double Green even after the big bomb he caught by Sanu. AJ dominated the Redskins and proved that he can not be guarded by one CB. It's up to Gruden to feed Gresham the ball in the 1st quarter no matter what and it will completely open up the field for Andy Dalton to work.

I was very critical of Andy Dalton's last game because his throws are sometimes all over the place. The Redskins secondary sucks but Dalton was way better this week with his accuracy including the pick 6. The interception that he threw in the first quarter WAS NOT his fault, it was completely on the offensive line. The way the defensive line bull rushed threw I thought it was a screen but they simple out muscled Faine in the middle. Dalton had to get rid of the ball or risk a safety and he never expected the defender to be where he thought BJGE was.

Our offensive line has not being getting any push what so ever in the run game AT ALL. I thought maybe it is because of Cook not being in there but the same thing was happening in preseason before he got hurt. I don't know if this can be fixed during the season but hopefully the more snaps that Boling and Zeitler get the better they will become.........I hope!

If a team has an elite TE it's a complete game changer in today's NFL. If you look at teams who have a great TE they are constantly trying to get them the ball at all cost and giving the lack of a running game the Bengals will have to beat teams throwing the ball. The game is changing and you have to throw the ball to win and I know that Marvin Lewis wants to get back to smash mouth football and being physical in both trenches but this team is not built for that. We have not been able to run the ball with any power and all 3 teams that we have played had ran right threw our defense.

I keep saying that Zimmer can fix this defense but I am really starting to worry that maybe it can't be fixed.
