Bengals.com: Nate Clements Seen Leaving Paul Brown Stadium In Walking Boot

Frank Victores-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

As if the issues in the Cincinnati Bengals secondary couldn't be more alarming, Nate Clements, who has played cornerback and filled in at safety this year, sported a walking boot on Monday.

While gearing up for the site's re-launch as well as other postgame analysis, we missed this "minor" update from Monday. At some point in the first quarter, Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Nate Clements suffered an injury against the Washington Redskins. Though he remained in the game and played a significant number of snaps, Clements was "seen leaving Paul Brown Stadium in a walking boot" on Monday, according to Geoff Hobson with Bengals.com.

Hobson notes that it's "unclear how serious the injury is." There have been instances in the past in which a player sported a walking boot following a game, but it was more designed more as a precaution than reaction to a serious injury.

Either way the Bengals can ill-afford to take another hit in the secondary. Starting cornerback Leon Hall missed Sunday's game with a calf injury and first-round pick Dre Kirkpatrick hasn't played yet this season, taking part in a handful of practices late in the preseason.
