The Bengals open the 2012 season on this upcoming Monday night in Baltimore. The Ravens feature two productive tight ends in the passing game. They are third year veterans Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta. Dickson sprained his right shoulder while catching a touchdown pass in a preseason game on August 9. Pitta broke a bone in his right hand during practice on July 30. There had been some concern that one or both tight ends would not be available for this Monday's game, but recent developments have decreased any doubts. Dickson and Pitta recently returned to practicing regularly with the team and should be ready to go on Monday.
The Bengals have had their problems covering certain tight ends. During the season finale last January, Pitta caught six passes for 62 yards and a touchdown against the Bengals. Dickson was not a huge factor for the Ravens against the Bengals last season, but he is someone that the Bengals will certainly need to keep an eye on
