Former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jordan Shipley was an early casualty during roster cuts with some observing that his knee just wasn't responding well. Additionally an intense wide receiver competition in Cincinnati forced Shipley out, who eventually signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was released during final cuts last week.

According to Jenny Vrentas with The Star-Ledger, Shipley was one of 19 free agents that worked out with the New York Giants on Friday. Two of those players, center Scott Wedige and defensive back Terrence Frederick, signed onto the Giants practice squad.

There are no reports of Shipley, who is ineligible for the practice squad, signing with the Giants, forcing one to conclude that he left New York without a contract.
