Green-Ellis Held Out Of Practice; Running On Side Field

Stay connected for news and updates

Last Sunday while getting ready for the Baltimore Ravens, the Cincinnati Bengals' starting running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis sustained a hamstring injury in pre-game warm-ups and was held out of the contest. It was an unfortunate surprise, though the Bengals' coaching staff was wise to sit Green-Ellis and not have him further the injury. Unfortunately, hamstring injuries tend to be nagging ones and that appears to be the case with "The Law Firm".

Per Joe Reedy of The Cincinnati Enquirer, Green-Ellis was held out of Tuesday's practice, though he did some running on the side field. It appears that the Bengals are going easy on him with the team headed to Houston to play the Texans this Saturday. When asked by reporters about Green-Ellis' status for Saturday's game, Lewis was his usual coy self and said "He'll be fine--at some point". Um...okay.

Also sitting out of practice were safeties Taylor Mays and Chris Crocker, who sustained injuries in the game against the Ravens.
