So, I think the running game has to do with having Kyle Cook at Center. There was absolutely no reason to start him over Robinson after Robinson started playing terrific and we had a good producing line. Essentially, this line would be growing up with each other (exception of whitworth) if Robinson stayed in. But of course, Marvin/Brown think another way and start Money/age over productivity.
Another thing is, the over-hyping of Jay Gruden. Now look, we have more than enough pieces (Hawkins, Green, Gresham, Charles, BJGE, Jones and even Whalen) to be a top offensive team in the league instead of being ranked 20th. Other teams would kill to have that much talent on the offensive side. I'd say it wouldn't hurt the Bengals if he ended up leaving this offseason and we hire someone else. I don't know how many times I see our team settling for field goals, and it's time to stop settling!
Now, I see a lot Bengals fans who are satisfied with what they have and think "well we'll wait till they fix themselves". No, that isn't the answer! That's why we always see the Ravens, Steelers, Patriots, Packers...in playoff contention most of the time. They make adjustments to win the ring the following year and for years to come. So I also ask us to change our minds and attitudes, because we deserve better for sticking with this team through thick and thin!
