I do these often, and will change my mind even more often than I do a mock. I'm really hoping we fill needs, and improve our weak spots. Here goes.
And please...opinions are ALWAYS welcome.
1. Matt Elam, SS, Florida - this is a little bit of a reach, but Vacarro will be gone, and SS is one of our biggest needs.
2A. Eddie Lacy, RB, Alabama - the most complete back in the draft, with the highest ceiling in my opinion.
2B. Khaseem Greene, OLB, Rutgers - This comes down to him or Brown, and I think Greene is the better tackler right now. Signifies the end of Maualuga in the middle.
3. Travis Frederick, G/C, Wisconsin - Beefing up our like makes Cook expendable maybe.
4. Quinton Patton, WR, La Tech. - another legit target, and depth. More weapons for a the offense.
5.DJ Swearinger, FS, S. Carolina - have both of our safeties for the future.
6A. Ace Sanders, WR, S. Carolina - think Andrew Hawkins, but actually a threat. STUD kick return guy. Bye bye Tate!
6B. Nigel Malone, CB, Kansas State - solid season. Should make Prater expendable. Pac Man's replacement down the road.
UDFA
Greg Blair, LB, Cincinnati - this guy is always around the ball. He could make Lawson and Rey exendable.
Robbie Rouse, RB, Fresno State - the third head of our RB trio. Different than the other 2. Makes Leonard and Scott expendable.
Zach Boren, FB/LB, Ohio State - John Connor did NOT impress. Versatility makes him attractive.
Walter Stewart, DE, Cincinnati - will eventually back up one of our ends. Excellent work ethic.
