Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins will receive a huge contract for 2014, there's little doubt. In the mean time he nailed incentives on his rookie deal.
According to Rotoworld's website, Bengals defensive tackles Geno Atkins and Domata Peko received a little bump in their salaries after applying escalators. Peko received an increase from $3.7 million to $3.9 million for his 2013 salary, with a $40,000 increase in his 2014 base salary.
Geno Atkins however scratched a winning lotto ticket. After being named to the 2013 Pro Bowl (for the 2012 season... I know) and generating 12.5 quarterback sacks, Atkins salary jumped from $575,000 to $1.423 million based on incentives within his rookie contract.
The Bengals and Atkins' agent have talked, though we suspect it's more exploratory than negotiation at this point.
