Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles beat reporter for The Philadelphia Enquirer tweeted that the team is saying that the reports that they are interviewing Bengals OC Jay Gruden are "100 percent false."

The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane tweeted on Tuesday that the reports that the Eagles are going to interview Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden for the head coaching vacancy are "100 percent false."

That doesn't mean that the Eagles won't interview Gruden at all, though. Gruden, after all, is one of the hotter names in the NFL when it comes to head coach candidates. His ability to coach a young Bengals offense to the playoffs two years in a row has made him a big name in the NFL and, of course, being of the brother of Jon Gruden can't hurt.

However, the Bengals' offensive ineptitude over the last few weeks may have left a sour taste in some teams' mouths. The Bengals offense struggles badly not only in their playoff game against the Texans, but they only scored one offensive touchdown in the last three games of the season. Of course they were facing the Steelers, Ravens and Texans, three of the best defenses in the league, though.

Stay tuned for more news on Gruden, or any other Bengals coaches, when it comes to any head coaching vacancies.
