First off, i would like to introduce myself, as this is my first post on CincyJungle. I have always been around the site but have just never took the time to sign up. My name is Roman, and I live in a small town in Ohio called Bellefontaine. im an avid Cincinnati fan (Bengals-Reds), and fan of ohio state cfb and college basketball.
anyways, enough about me and onto why i actually decided to make a account on here. I see people putting all the blame for the Bengals woes on the shoulders of Andy Dalton.
Is Dalton part of the problem? Yes. But he is honestly one of
the minor problems we have, and alot of his come from the rest of the team.
The biggest problem with the Bengals Offense lies with our offensive coordinator. Gruden is a dud, and needs to go. He constantly downplays Daltons strengths, refuses to make two dominant tight ends a major part of the game plan. Also if you look at his designed runs for Giovanni Bernard on sunday, the majority of them were right down the middle. Gruden seems to think Bernard is more useful running inbetween the center and guard instead of outside the tackle. This brings me to my next pint.
Kyle Cook is bringing down the level of play from our line every sunday. Cook is not a great pass or run blocker. Leaving him in is setting Dalton and any runs inside up to fail. Robinso. was pretty decent in run blocking last year, but his pass blocking needs work, but he is still an automatic upgrade over Cook.
Dalton has missed his fair share of open receivers amd overthrown or underthrown them aswell. But tell me, how many passes has our recieving corp dropped this year? Also, how many turnovers are they responsible for? They pretty much lost us the Bears game.
My last point i will bring up. Many of you say we need to draft Daltons replacement. If this happens, and it works, what do you do in a few years when that replacement demands a huge contract even if they are a product of the talent around them? Do you do this or stick with Dalton and keep all the talent on both sides of the ball, and fix the issues that are hurting Dalton, while keeping that chemistry consistent? If you chose the first, you really need to rethink it.
anyways, now that ive signed up I will most likely be around more. Glad to be apart of the community. who dey
