Matchup of the Game: Classic Bengal vs. Vintage Cincy
Sunday's matchup at Ralph Wilson Stadium pits one of the Bengals' classic pros in head coach Marvin Lewis's locker room vs. the vintage Cincinnati high school product.

What Ails Them, and Maybe a Cure
This Sunday’s game in Denver between the 0-5 Jaguars and the 5-0 Broncos is anticipated to be a mismatch of historic proportions. This week The MMQB is exploring what it’s like for the Jaguars to be the NFL’s biggest underdog ever, whether there’s hope for the season—and the future—i...

Notes: Hall limited; Whit reunion; Elder's Wood a Bills anchor; Jack Thompson honored
It looks like Bengals cornerback Leon Hall is going to try and give it a go in practice Wednesday.

Practice report: Hall returns, Johnson out | Bengals Blog
"I feel pretty good," Hall said. "Obviously I haven’t played football but see how it goes. I did a little bit on Friday, not much. Right now I feel great but haven’t run or anything. I feel better than I did Friday and Saturday. I had a few days to get better."

The Walkthrough: Finding the Blueprint
Fantastic time on Beyond The Stripes last night. Doc played the role of Pollyanna, Kevin Huber’s mother told us what a good boy he was and Reedy and I nearly needed to be broken up. I think Joe’s still pounding the table. Regardless, a great time and huge thanks to #TeamHuber that rolled in about 30 deep with quite an entourage. The standard has been set.

Morning Stripes: Bengals search for offense
As was indicated in Wednesday's Morning Stripes, there has been a shift in the coverage of Cincinnati Bengals storylines this week. It's not that those of us on the Bengals beat have run out of ways to describe the positives from the defense's performance in Sunday's 13-6 win over the Patriots. It's more that we're still trying to find that right balance between sharing stories that pertain to offense, defense and special teams. (For the record, we'll have a special-teams story later Thursday on the Bengals blog. Get excited -- we're giving the ball to all of our playmakers this week.)

Schaub story brings memory of Palmer
There have been varying degrees on just what happened this week in Houston. Texans quarterback Matt Schaub has been through some trials and tribulations this season, which has started off 2-3 for the two-time defending AFC South champions, and the folks in Houston aren’t too pleased, especially after a 34-3 beating Sunday night in San Francisco.

Hot Read -- Haslam family business faces complex federal inquiry - ESPN
Four years ago, as most of the trucking industry grappled with the recession, Jimmy Haslam ordered top sales executives of his truck stop empire from around the country to come to a meeting at the company headquarters in Knoxville, Tenn. He brought in his national sales director, Brian Mosher, from Bettendorf, Iowa. He invited two top regional sales managers, one from Illinois and the other from Texas. And he included Mark Hazelwood, a lifer at the Haslam-family-owned Pilot Flying J, who had worked his way up to the position of company president.

2013 Week 5 QB Watch - NFL Nation Blog - ESPN
When Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton stepped into the huddle for the first time Sunday, few of the 64,000 inside Paul Brown Stadium knew what to expect. Would the Dalton of Week 4 show up? The one who threw for 203 yards and stumbled to a season-low 29.7 QBR? Or the one who, in his only other home games this season, torched Pittsburgh and was timely against Green Bay?

Dan Graziano's MVP Watch - NFL Nation Blog - ESPN
Before you start, don’t even start. The Watch doesn’t know what to tell you. This week’s list came out a weird mess, with pass-rushers and tight ends thrashing around in spots that always go to quarterbacks. Blame it on Peyton Manning, who’s been raising the bar too high for some uber-reliable usual suspects to touch on their tippy-toes and has been making spots 2 through 10 feel irrelevant.

Fantasy football, Twitter changing ways young viewers watch NFL games | The MMQB with Peter King
The lead item of this week's column is absent a familiar voice: Mine. Hold your applause, please. Instead, I’ve paneled a group of college students—newspaper editors, writers and television majors—to answer a series of questions on how they consume the NFL and to share their thoug...

Fantasy football Player Projections: Week 6
I'm sorry if you find yourself lined up across the fantasy field from Peyton Manning on Sunday. The Broncos are 28-point favorites over the Jaguars this week. Manning could account for at least that many points with his passing touchdowns alone. A 30-point fantasy day feels like a lock. Who else is in line for a big day? Who will disappoint their owners? Let's find out with the Week 6 projections.
