I've spent a lot of time trying figure out why some folks have this beef with Andy as our quarterback. I mean, we win games and people seem to bend over backwards to find reasons to deny him any credit.
"Yes he put up a lot of yards, but it wasn't him, it was the receivers getting yards after the catch."
"Yes he threw an 82 yard touchdown pass on the opening series, but it was in spite of him because it looked underthrown."
"The game-winning drives for which he receives credit don't count because (take your pick): there are too many running plays involved, the field goal that won was too long because he should have gotten us closer, it was actually our punter's great kick giving us good field position, it was really our great punt return that all but put us in field goal range..."
What could explain the need to do this? Then I was watching a couple of his interviews and it hit me like a ton of bricks.
It's that black ring he wears. Something about it nagged at me, I couldn't take my eyes off of it. And then it dawned on me- it cries out for tiger stripes! The Dalton detractors are inflamed by him putting it in their face all the time stripeless. Is that all it will take?
