Morning Bites (11/13): Bengals news and links

Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

Taking a look at the big stories around the internet regarding your Cincinnati Bengals.

Bengals' slow starts are becoming the norm
Each of the last two weeks the Bengals dug halftime deficits to necessitate fourth-quarter comebacks and eventual overtime losses. While the fight of the team to crawl back into the games clearly illustrated resolve, pinpointing the reason for sluggish starts didn't appear so obvious.

Bengals Breakdown: A.J. Green's Hail Mary
Inspired by my ESPN.com colleague, Lions reporter Michael Rothstein, I'm starting a new weekly tradition on the Bengals blog. Following each game, we'll take a deeper look at one key play from the contest just passed, and analyze it with comments from those who had a true front-row seat for it.

The Morning Line, 11/12, Marvin Gets Mental | Paul Daugherty
This is the time of the football season when mental games can be as important as the physical ones, which could be why M. Lewis seems to be doing some extra pumping up of his players. After his team played half a game Sunday, Lewis pronounced himself pleased with its effort. It was a wise move. His players are getting beaten up physically. The mental pounding doesnt need to add to it.

Game of inches
Two fourth downs. Two stops. A couple of rulers. The two biggest plays in a game that featured a 51-yard tipped Hail Mary tying touchdown with no time left.

Is Andy Dalton just not a big-game QB?
Like many of you the last two weeks, I've been racking my brain trying to think of just what the problem with Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton might be. For four weeks in October, he was the class of the NFL, putting up the type of numbers that earned him conference offensive player of the month honors.

Fantasy Recap: Week 10
The big news of Week 10 will end up being that Texans RB Arian Foster was shut down for the season.

Notes: Whit looks to rebound; Green expands NFL lead
A.J. Green's tip-drill acrobatics for a 43-yard catch and his rebound off a 51-yard Hail Mary on Sunday have given him a 109-yard lead over Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson in the NFL receiving yardage race.

Time for Bengals to regroup, put losses behind
With two straight losses for the first time in more than a year, offensive coordinator Jay Gruden was trying to look ahead instead of back. At 6-4, the Bengals lead the Browns and Ravens by 11/2 games in the AFC North heading into Sunday's game against Cleveland.
