Don’t know you guys, but in this glorious Monday (isn’t it great to start the working week knowing we have a home playoff game coming and 2 days off in the middle of the week?) I have to give thanks to a few groups of people.
First and foremost, thanks to all NFL owners and GMs for NOT hiring Zimmer as their head coach in the past offseason. We all agree that, with the injuries and all, our D would have never been nearly this good with a different coordinator.
Second, special thanks goes to Dalton’s parents. Andy sure does not have the best physical assets in the league, but he as though mentally as any other QB I ever watched playing. That for sure can only come from a good, solid family education.
Third, thanks to the Brown family. Damn you Mike Brown, you certainly gave us the worst 15 years that any football fan had to endure, but now we cannot deny how incredible you were over the past 5 years. From a franchise where no player wanted to land to one of the most coveted in the league, who would have thought?
Fourth, thanks to the Buffalo Bills front 7. Yes, of course we would have been in the playoffs anyway, since Pats destroyed the Ravens, but their performance against the Phins gave us a nice, comfortable Sunday afternoon. And, of course, I expect them to double up next week, by beating up Brady and give us an even bigger X-mas gift.
Fifth, thanks to all fellow Bengals fan out there. I have to say we are probably the most resilient bunch of sport fans that there is out there, often funny, never arrogant (don’t you like the fact that we are NOT a** as some other fanbases?) and, despite some inevitable differences among us, easy to get along with. Thanks guys and let’s have us a wonderful month of January!!!
