With the defense headed for a possible top 5 finish in just about every category and more hype around him than ever, I think this is probably the offseason that we finally lose Mike Zimmer. There are some possible in house candidates for his replacement - most notably Paul Guenther - but one big name will almost certainly be out there. Rex Ryan. He's all but assured to be fired by the Jets and won't be on anyone's list as a HC candidate. T only makes sense he'd take the Jack Del Rio route and try to refurbish his image on a contending team as a DC. And could there possibly be a better fit than Cincinnati? Dominant defensive lion, intimidating LBers, and his obvious history and familiarity working with Marvin. Marvin has often called him the best defensive coordinator he's ever known.
I don't love Ryan as a personality, and I much prefer Zimmer's ability to lead his players, but if we have to lose him then you'd be hard pressed to find a better replacement than Ryan.
