With the regular season wrapping up and the Super Bowl a little over a month away, maybe it’s not too early to be thinking of a team song that might help propel the Bengals through playoffs. Maybe someone on CJ will come up with a hit.
For example, I remember back in 1979 when the Pirates had a team song of "We are Fam-i-ly" (by Sister Sledge). Not that I like the Pirates, but the fact that I still remember it says something about identifying a team with a song.
In any case, here’s my first, albeit corny idea. Since this is a good character, family-friendly team, maybe some wholesome excerpts from the "Sound of Music - Live"? And maybe we could get Carrie (Mrs. Sunday Night Football) Underwood (aka Maria) to sing to the team and fans at PBS?
To the tune of "The Sound of Music"
The Jungle is alive, with the sound of football, ….
To the tune of "Maria"
"How do we solve a problem like [insert name of opposing team's star here]?
To the tune of "Climb Ev’ry Mountain"
Climb ev’ry bracket, ford ev’ry line, follow ev’ry rainbow, to your Super Bowl dream."
To the tune of "Do Re Mi"
Dal, a ton of QB skill
Rey, two drops of golden sun
Me, is not found on this team
Fa, a long, long playoff run
So, bring us the best you’ve got
LA, Mike didn't move us there
Tee, is Huber's kickoff friend
That will bring us back to Dal-al-ton
To the tune of "Edelweiss" (Depending on the playoff bracket)
Edelman, Edelman, Vontaze Burfict will greet you :)
To the tune of "So Long, Farewell"
OK, for real, of the following songs, which do you like best, if any.
