Cincinnati Bengals center Trevor Robinson, who joined the team as an undrafted free agent last year, will compete with Kyle Cook for the starting job in 2013.
With the emergence of undrafted free agent Trevor Robinson, who stepped in for an injured Jeff Faine, vastly improving and stabilizing the position which led to an offensive outburst that helped Cincinnati's winning streak, Marvin Lewis told reporters during Friday's press conference that center will be an open competition.
Cook was placed on Injured Reserve with a high-ankle sprain during last year's preseason, which led to the team signing Jeff Faine, who also suffered midseason injury leading to Robinson's emergence.
According to Pro Football Focus, of the three centers that started for Cincinnati in 2012, Robinson graded as the best with Kyle Cook turning a negative grade upon his return in week 14, allowing three quarterback sacks in five games played (including the postseason).
