Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports
The Cincinnati Bengals have a significant number of free agents that they want to re-up.
Every year after Marvin Lewis speaks to the media during a press conference at the podium, the Bengals head coach meets with the local beat for a more localized conversation that perhaps the national media wouldn't otherwise care for. During the "interview" or local press conference (however you want to define it), Lewis indicated an urgency of retaining their own players.
Lewis also indicated that progress is being made with free agents they're attempting to re-sign. However with their priorities being Andre Smith and Michael Johnson -- and Adam Jones to a lesser degree (but not by much) -- Cincinnati may have to use it on one while hopefully sealing the other to a long-term deal. The favorite seems to be Michael Johnson, but only barely.
