B*tching for Burfict

Stay connected for news and updates

Can someone explain how this kid received ZERO votes for Defensive Rookie of the Year? All the stories cite Kuechley being a tackling machine. Burfict ended the season with 127 total tackles, 40 behind Kuechley. Interesting thing of note in comparing those numbers is that Burfict didn't become a fulltime starter until game 5 whereas Kuechley started from game 1. Burfict led a higher ranked defense and at times took over a game in ways Kuechley never did. Now, don't get me wrong, Kuechley was the defensive ROY BUT how is Burfict not getting a single vote when the guy who was the run away winner did not have a stat line far and away beyond that of Burfict. These voters are idiots, IMO. The Philly game was a national televised game so as part of their job they should have been watching when Burfict single-handedly took over that game. There was a stretch where Philly was gaining momentum and Burfict made 6 consecutive tackles to force two straight 3 and outs which began the Bengals surge in that game.

Because its appropriate here and I like the guy, I'm borrowing a phrase from Chad, CHILD PLEASE!!!
