The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported on Tuesday night that the Falcons have re-signed cornerback Brent Grimes to a one-year deal. Grimes, a former Pro Bowler, generated interest in St. Louis and Tampa Bay before returning to Atlanta.

Writes the AJC:

Grimes' situation was complicated by the Achilles injury he suffered in the season opener against Kansas City. The recovery from his injury and subsquent surgery takes nine months, according to Falcons head coach Mike Smith, meaning he might not be ready to show teams he's fully recovered until June.
