On Tuesday Bruce Gradkowski traveled East for a scheduled free agency visit with the Pittsburgh Steelers. And apparently things went swimmingly well, as ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports that the Steelers have reached an agreement with Gradkowski on a three-year deal.

Gradkowski was the team's first signing (that didn't play for Cincinnati the prior season) following the NFL lockout in 2011. He only played four games, completing 13 of 29 passes, including a touchdown and interception -- most of which was mop-up duty during blowouts with the exception being the regular season opener in 2011 when Dalton suffered an injury.

This obviously generates a need to sign quarterbacks, without a veteran backup option. It's possible Cincinnati relies on Zac Robinson, replacing his practice squad spot from last year with another late-round or undrafted free agent quarterback to groom. But that just seems a little frightening.

Now, Jay Gruden. Redo the playbook, eh?
