Just be on the roster.
That's how easy it is for certain NFL players, who have roster bonuses written into their contracts, have it. By 4:00 pm ET on Friday, Cincinnati Bengals safety Reggie Nelson will pocket $1 million, just for being on the roster; unless something wickedly shocking happens by then, which won't happen.
It's not like it wasn't earned though.
In the past two seasons combined, Nelson generated 170 tackles, seven interceptions, 21 passes defensed, four forced fumbles and three quarterback sacks. Oh, and a touchdown.
Nelson signed a four-year deal to remain with Cincinnati on March 18, 2012 worth $18 million. The deal also included a $2.5 million signing bonus and a base salary of $2.45 million, $3.8 million and $4.1 million during the final three years of the deal.
Nelson, a former first round pick with the Jacksonville Jaguars, was acquired via a trade before the 2010 season for cornerback David Jones.
