According to Chris Steuber of Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services, the Bengals were one of 18 teams in attendance at Wake Forest's annual pro day on Monday morning.
I'm told reps from ARI, ATL, BUF, CAR, CIN, DET, GB, IND, JAX, MIA, NE, NO, NYG, NYJ, PHI, PIT, SF & SEA are attending #WakeForest Pro Day.— Chris Steuber (@ChrisSteuber) March 18, 2013
Out of all the players participating in the workout, only Wake Forest fullback Tommy Bohanon received an invite to the scouting combine in Indianapolis. After clocking a 4.88 second 40-yard dash back in February, Bohanon opted to re-run the drill on Monday and ended up improving his time, turning in marks in the low-to-mid 4.7 range (although these were hand-timed results, so in all likelihood he still probably ran around an official high 4.8 again).
Despite already having three fullbacks on the roster, Bohanon might merit a look on the final day of the draft. His position isn't a flashy one, but he would add excellent special teams depth--all the more important after losing LB Dan Skuta--and his 23 catches out of the backfield in 2012 shows that he might also offer something in the passing game as well. All in all, he could displace current practice squad-er Jourdan Brooks as a developmental prospect, should the Bengals choose to pull the trigger on him in the upcoming draft.
