The Bengals will be hosting a private workout with Texas A&M offensive tackle Manase Foketi on Monday.
At 6'5" and 318 lbs, Foketi is viewed as having physical upside, but his inexperience (missed 2011 season with Achilles injury) and the question as to whether or not he'd be better suited as a guard rather than tackle is a large factor toward his late-round grade.
There are also some questions regarding Foketi's maturity due to an ugly falling out with Kansas State in 2011 when his transfer request was initially denied. Because of his physical skill set, Foketi is viewed as a worthwhile risk assuming he's drafted in later rounds.
Obviously, the Bengals are hoping to reach a deal with Andre Smith and it's unlikely that Foketi or any late round investment would be viewed as a replacement if Smith doesn't return to Cincinnati. The news of Foketi's visit should simply be indicative of the Bengals taking a closer look at some deeper prospects at the position.
