We're kicking off our 2013 Cincy Jungle mock draft and with the first overall pick in our annual mock, I represented the Kansas City Chiefs (because nobody else wanted to).
With the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 Cincy Jungle mock draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select:
Texas A&M offensive tackle Luke Joeckel
This would have been really different had the Chiefs not made some of the offensive moves that they did, especially bringing in quarterback Alex Smith. While the 2013 draft doesn't have a quarterback as dynamic as Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin III, Geno Smith really was beginning to look like a possible No. 1 overall pick. If the Chiefs were staring down the barrel of another season with Matt Cassel, I'd go with Smith.
However, that's not the case, and since the Chiefs have their new quarterback, they won't need Geno, but they will need someone to help protect their new quarterback. Joeckel is the top offensive tackle in this year's draft class and the Chiefs have been working out tackles left and right. If they want their No. 1 overall pick to be safe, Joeckel's the best fit.
