Bengals Worked Out Marcus Lattimore; So Did Everyone Else

USA TODAY Sports

The Bengals worked out South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore on Wednesday along with scouts from every other team in the league, according to ESPN 1530's Lindsay Patterson.

And according to Darryl Slater for The Post and Courier in Charleston, Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis was the only coach that attended.

Lattimore wowed scouts, according to the Dayton Daily News' Pete Iacobelli, as he showed the progress he's made since his knee injury in a limited workout.

Lattimore received loud applause from ex-teammates, coaches and evaluators from the 31 NFL teams attending.

Lattimore suffered one of the more gruesome knee injuries over the last few years in October when he dislocated his knee and tore several ligaments against the Tennessee Volunteers.

Here's video of his injury and keep in mind that this is not for the faint of heart.

Lattimore is hoping to prove that he's healthy enough to be selected in the first few rounds of the draft. While healthy at South Carolina, he carried the ball 555 times for 2,677 yards and 38 touchdowns in three years. Had he finished his 2012 season without the injury, he would likely be one of the, if not the, top back in the draft.

The Bengals said they will look to the draft to find a running back who compliments BenJarvus Green-Ellis' between-the-tackles running style. They have expressed interest in several backs this offseason and most believe that they'll use one of their four picks in the first three rounds on one.
