According to Chris Steuber, the Bengals sent representatives to check out the East Carolina pro day on Thursday, continuing their streak of attendance at the scouting events leading up to this April's draft.
No word yet on which players actually participated in the event, but some likely names include senior RB Vintavious Cooper, senior WR Andrew Bodenheimer, senior WR Derrick Harris, senior ILB Kyle Tudor, senior DB Damon Magazu, and senior DB Chip Thompson, amongst others. The Bengals need help at all of these positions, and while none of the aforementioned players were invited to the combine, that doesn't mean the team won't look their way in the later rounds of the draft.
The odds, however, are stacked against them. Since 2008, only six Pirate players have been drafted at all, and only two were selected in the first two rounds (RB Chris Johnson and DT Linval Joseph). No East Carolina players were drafted in 2012.
