My four round mock draft and offseason forecast. Im hoping that the Bengals will continue the trend and have another great draft class. With a few more young players and keeping some of our own veterans we can get over that hump and get that elusive playoff victory this year and hopefully more.
RD 1 pick no 21: Alec Ogletree LB Georgia
Was recruited as a 5 star safety prospect converted to linebacker. Has the ability to play against both the run and the pass. Due to a recent DUI his draft stock has more than likely slid. Im not sure before that he would be available here.
RD 2 pick no 37: Matt Elam S Florida
Can play against the run and pass but his strength is defending the run. Never shies away from contact but doesn't always gamble on the big hit a la Taylor Mays.
RD 2 pick no 53: Justin Hunter WR Tennessee
Big receiver comes in at around 6'4 205 lbs. ran a 4.43 at the combine and has the ability to jump up and get the ball at its highest point. Had some problems with drops this year which is why he slid down this far. It would be great to get Dalton another big QB friendly receiver.
RD 3 pick no 84: Tyrann Mathieu CB LSU
Im sure everyone knows the problem with The Honey Badgers off the field issues. As long as the coaches can see he is ready to leave the past behind he would have great value here. He is a turnover machine a bit undersized but makes up with his toughness.
RD 4 pick no 115: Marquise Goodwin WR Texas
This track star from texas lit up the combine. Is raw as a receiver but so was Mike Wallace coming out of Ole Miss. Im sure Im not the only bengals fan wishing the Bengals would sign Wallace but the money he wants needs to be used to extend the contracts of Geno, AJ, and Dalton later down the road. Also has value as a KR and Im tired of Tate back there dancing and not kneeling when he's 9 yds into the endzone.
Now for our free agents.
Andre Smith RT: I think the bengals brass are wise to let him test the free agent market to lower his asking price. He is asking to be paid as the highest paid right tackle in the NFL. He played at a Pro Bowl caliber tackle last year. But this is his first year playing the full 16 games. Hopefully we can get him signed to a three year deal at about 23 million.
Adam Jones CB: Pacman was our second best corner last year and has finally grew up and is a stellar player. Hopefully we can get him signed to a three year deal worth roughly 8.5 million
Thomas Howard OLB: Last year howard led the team in tackles. How does this rotation sound Howard at will with Burfict sliding over to mike, and Ogletree at sam. Maulaluga is just to inconsistent and we need to cut ties with him. Sign Howard to a 2 year deal with 4 million.
Aslo I believe we should resign Walace Gilberry who was a great addition to our d-line rotation last year. Andrew Hawkins how was making some huge plays for us early on in the year. Josh brown who played great when Nugent went down. Also bring back Huber, Peerman, Skuta, and Crocker who is getting old but for depth.
Our one free agent signing being
Reggie Bush RB Miami Dolphins:
We need a big play threat at RB. With Green Ellis having to compete with Bush for the starting spot would bring out the best in both players. I also believe that Reggie Would Run wild behind the Bngals O line winning the starting job. Give bush a 2 year 9 million dollar deal.
Thanks for reading WHO DEY FANS. Tell me what you think and leave your own mocks and signings.
