According to a story from USA Today, Tyrann Mathieu, also known as the Honey Badger, stopped counting failed drug tests at LSU once he reached ten failed tests. He claims he's avoided drugs since October 2012. Hoping to present himself as ready for the NFL prospect who has turned over a new leaf. A more mature, more professional, person than he was 6 months ago.
An unnamed coach claims he asked Mathieu about how many drug tests failures happened before his college suspension, he claims Mathieu then responded, "I quit counting at 10. I really don't know."
The USA Today article does place a name to one coach's comments, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis. When asked for his thoughts on Mathieu, Lewis told USA Today, "People misstep sometimes. It comes down to us having confidence that a person has turned a corner."
Some will state, "It's only marijuana." Some will say, "He's immature." Others will claim, "He's a risk." While others will claim, "He's worth it."
The only thing I've taken away from the USA Today article, Mathieu is someplace on the Bengal's draft board, the question is how highly ranked?
