Greetings all, fairly new to the site and this is my first Fanpost, more of an open question than anything else. With all the talk about Safety being one of the primary areas of need for the Bengals most people have us going after Vaccaro, Cyprien or Elam early on or people like Swearinger, Reid or Rambo with 2b/3.
I'm kind of suprised there hasn't been much mention of Phillip Thomas in all of this, I know he's had injury issues in the past and hasn't been playing against the highest calibre of opposition but he's a unanimous All-American, led the nation in interceptions and had a good pro-day building on a solid combine.
I haven't seen that much on him but he has looked very good in what I have seen. He apparently killed it in the position drills (http://blogs.nfl.com/2013/03/29/robbie-rouse-phillip-thomas-work-out-well-in-fresno/) and has got six or seven visits lined up (https://twitter.com/jessob_kmph/status/314520033613197312), none of which are with the Bengals.
So my question is this: why is he seemingly not on our radar? By that I mean both the organization and the fans - there's almost no buzz about him at all. Am I missing something glaringly obvious here? If we picked him up at 2a we could have a lot of flexibility with the first rounder, going BPA or trying to trade down but that's just my two cents, what are your opinions on this guy?
