The Chicago Bears made the painful decision to cut ties with their future Hall of Fame linebacker Brian Urlacher this offseason. Urlacher had been nursing some injuries and was a cap casualty--he still hasn't found a job as of yet. Many surrounding the club believe that middle linebacker will be addressed early on.
According to Ian Rapoport and Stacy Dales of the NFL Network, that sounds as if that will be the case. And the guy they are supposedly targeting? None other than the embattled Notre Dame star, Manti Te'o.
Many have tabbed the Bears as a possible landing spot for Kansas State's Arthur Brown or Georgia's Alec Ogletree, but it appears that they may like Te'o the best of the group. If they do select him, he will have some big shoes to fill at the position for that team. Aside from Urlacher, the Bears have two other all-time greats at middle linebacker in Mike SIngletary and Dick Butkus.
We'll find out if there's any truth to this rumor in a few hours.
