With the number fifteen pick in the 2013 NFL draft, the New Orleans Saints have selected Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro. The number one safety in the draft, Vaccaro was coveted by a number of safety-needy teams, the Bengals included. The Saints had the worst pass defense in the league in 2012 and needed a lot of help in their secondary. Vaccaro should come in and immensely help their porous defense.
With Vaccaro gone, there are still a number of quality safeties available, but after the top three or four, the talent drops off precipitously. The Bengals most likely target with their first-round pick is still safety, so hopefully the selection of Vaccaro doesn't spark a run on the position.
