The Cincinnati Bengals have reportedly made their first move of the undrafted free agent season. According to Kyle Tucker, a University of Kentucky beat writer with the Courier-Journal, Eastern Kentucky wide receiver Tyrone Goard will sign with the Bengals.
EKU receiver Tyrone Goard, a projected draft pick, says via text he'll sign as a free agent with the Bengals. 6-4 WR averaged 21 ypc.— Kyle Tucker (@KyleTucker_CJ) April 27, 2013
Goard is 6'7" according to his NFL.com profile page, running a 4.5.
Every year a handful of small-school receivers earn spots on NFL scouts’ radars because of their size and production -– and Goard has plenty of both. His tall, long frame helped him capture 39 passes for 627 yards and 11 touchdowns, as well as second-team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors, in his first year as a full-time starter in 2011. This followed a solid sophomore campaign where he earned six starts in 11 games (20-315, five TD), and two years after a redshirt freshman season in which he played just three games with no receptions. Goard played in 10 games as a senior, and he caught 41 passes for 900 yards and eight touchdowns.
Goard also retweeted another saying that he's a Bengals player.
