Bengals Hosting Former Eagles Linebacker Akeem Jordan

Jonathan Ferrey

The Cincinnati Bengals are looking to rebuild special teams after the Dan Skuta departure, as well as a versatile linebacker used for depth.

According to Aaron Wilson with the Baltimore Sun, the Cincinnati Bengals are hosting veteran linebacker Akeem Jordan this week.

Jordan is a former undrafted free agent, signed by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2007. Jordan would go on to play 82 games during seven seasons with the Eagles, including 34 starts. He generated 262 tackles, two picks, a quarterback sack and two forced fumbles during his career. Jordan alternated between SAM and WILL linebacker, mostly weakside linebacker, playing some MIKE during injuries that required it.

More importantly, Jordan has been a key special teams contributor, leading the Eagles last year with 15 special teams tackles.

Think Dan Skuta replacement, who departed for the San Francisco 49ers on a two-year deal during the first handful of weeks of free agency.
