Week 1: Cincinnati Bengals at Chicago Bears
Time: 1 p.m. ET
Location: Soldier Field; Chicago, Illinois
Bengals 2012 record: 10-6 (0-1 playoffs)
Bears 2012 record: 10-6
6-3 Bengals (4-1 in Chicago)
Key Draft Picks:
The Bengals and the Bears both had solid seasons in 2012, but the Bears were shut out of the playoffs while the Bengals earned a wildcard spot for the second year in a row. They were, however, knocked out in the first round of the playoffs by the Texans. The last time the Bengals and Bears faced each other it was in Paul Brown Stadium and former Bengals and Bears back Cedric Benson led Cincinnati to a 45-10 win.
The Bengals are looking to head back to the playoffs for the third season in a row and starting the season off with a big road win would go a long way to make that happen. The Bears, under new head coach Marc Trestman, are looking to set the tone with a new offense and are hoping to get back into the playoffs and opening up the schedule with a home win against a playoff team would be a good way to start the season.
