Watching the videos, pictures and reading the new reports about the tragedy in Oklahoma is heart-breaking. Communities destroyed, a school directly struck leading to the loss of life is something many of us struggle to wrap our heads around. It tends to make to break the obsession and fanaticism of sports into a silly and trivial matter. But equally as important, sports allows a momentary reprieve to shed the scorched feelings of helplessness as our own countrymen and people just like us suffer and mourn what they've lost.
We echo the sentiments of several Bengals players.

There aren't many events around the world that causes us to pause and reflect on what's important. This is one of those times. I'm personally grateful that my family living in Oklahoma were well safe from the tornadoes' path. But many weren't.
