Williams played in 54 games at Georgia and was one of the best run-stopping safeties in college football. He finished with 98 tackles in 2012 and was named a team captain. In his senior season, he only allowed 16 completions from 62 passes thrown into his area.
Williams will compete, and is the favorite, according to many analysts, to start at strong safety alongside Reggie Nelson when the season rolls around. Other candidates are Taylor Mays and Jeromy Miles. One of the things the Bengals liked about Williams was his ability to quarterback the defense from the safety position, something he did while at Georgia.
Now the Bengals have nine of their 10 draft picks under contract. Expect Eifert to sign any day now.
