CBS Sports' Will Brinson recently went through each AFC team's over/under for the upcoming season and made his picks. For the Bengals, the over/under is set at 8.5. While the Bengals are coming off two consecutive playoff appearances, their 2013 schedule is tough and pits them against the Bears, Packers, Patriots, Lions and Colts as wellas the Steelers and Ravens twice.
The odds of the Bengals winning more than 8.5 games are +110 and the odds of winning less are -115. This means, if you wanted to bet that the Bengals would win less than 8.5 games, you would need to bet $115 to win $100 (a $215 payout). If you wanted to bet they'd win more, you would need to bet $100 to win $110 (a $210 payout).
Brinson has this to say about the Bengals:
Cincinnati Bengals, 8.5
Over (+110) / Under (-135)
Cincy's benefited greatly from easy schedules the last two seasons and it's helped Andy Dalton and Co. get into the playoffs two-straight years. In 2013, things are much different, especially at home. PIT, GB, NE, NYJ, CLE, IND, MIN, BAL is a formidable home schedule. But with a stout defense that features the criminally underrated Geno Atkins, getting close to double-digit wins shouldn't be out of the question. Getting a plus number on the bet only helps. Verdict: OVER
Elsewhere in the AFC North, the Ravens are set at 8.5 (over -140/under +120), the Steelers are set at nine (over -120/under even) and the Browns are set at six (over -130/under +110).
