The Bengals finished the 2012 season with a 10-6 record, which was good enough to lock in a playoff spot. That 10-6 record was earned by the blood and sweat of the Bengals' offensive and defensive starters. The Bengals, however, have added some extremely talented players this offseason, both in free agency and in the draft. The new players will be looking to make their own mark by replacing a starter from last year.
How many starters from Week 1 do you think will be replaced, if any?
First, the 2012 starters (in the offense's and defense's base packages):
There are some obvious answers here. Armon Binns won't be starting at WR2, Nate Clements isn't going to start at cornerback, Thomas Howard isn't going to start at WILL and Manny Lawson won't be starting at SAM. These players are no longer on the Bengals roster (at least not now in the case of Howard).
There are a lot of question marks too. Can Mays prove he's worthy of starting at strong safety? Can Maualuga hold on to his spot at inside linebacker? Will Geathers fight off Carlos Dunlap? Will Cook hold back Trevor Robinson?
How many positions do you think will feature new starters in Week 1 of the 2013 season?
