Every Sunday throughout the US millions of Americans (and some illegals & tourists & such) go to church on Sunday morning. .
As long as there have been Europeans on the continent (Spanish, then pilgrims, et al), there have been folks here going to church on Sunday.
There is another popular phenomenon that takes place each Sunday in the US (from Sept thru Jan) known as NFL football. .
This should come as no surprise to any CJ reader, that there are football games on Sunday.
And every year these 2 major Sunday forces collide from Sept thru Jan.
Church and football.
Clearly for the non-Christian, or lukewarm non-church-going Christian, these 2 forces fit perfectly together. .
Because they aren’t going to church. .
So it’s a non-issue. .
But what about the church-going crowd? .
When I had my religious conversion, I became Catholic, and this never was an issue.
Because I can just go on Saturday evening or to an early Sunday mass. .
But many of my protestant friends don’t have this option. .
So I've always wondered what ways the church-going crowd fit NFL and church into their Sunday morning/afternoon? .
